The animals’ drop ears are rather low set and fluffy. The ears color can be light lemon or tan; these colors are permissible but not desirable. The breed was recognized by the AKC in 1888 and according to the AKC standard, the coat color must be white.

Animals of this breed demand special and thorough daily care. As they have very long hair, regular grooming is required to prevent their coats from matting. These animals should be bathed with a speciall shampoo for white hair. As tear staining can be a problem in this breed, it is necessary to keep the face dry and clean to minimize a problem of the staining.
